On July 11 and 18, 2026, the Nepal Stroke Project Nurse Team, successfully delivered the second Basic Course of the Stroke Care for Nurses education series.

After the fruitful start of the online training in Basic Stroke Care in December last year, we repeated the course with new participants who were eager to learn more about stroke care. These about 20 enthused nurses spent many hours of their free
time on a Saturday afternoon to enhance their knowledge in dealing with this very relevant disease. Dr. Andrea Kosinski talked about pre-acute and acute care and showed how important the nurses’ work is for the patients’ outcome. On the second afternoon many practical aspects were addressed like monitoring, swallow test and the preparation of the thrombolysis therapy. All the nurses who completed the basic course may now submit the NSP certificate to get CPD points.

Looking ahead, Advanced Courses will follow soon and will focus on deepening clinical knowledge, nursing decision-making, and practical application in stroke care.
